The mistreatment of animals has always been big stories in the news, but there are often times when people can do very little to help. In 2014, there was a case of seventy-five horses who had been abandoned and mistreated, and there wasn’t a whole lot many people could do.
But thankfully, these horses all have new places to call home. Thirty of the horses had been locked in paddocks without any chances for exercise or stimulation to keep their minds active. The rest of the horses were left outside and exposed to the elements, where their paddocks were filled with excess feces and they had a complete lack of any handling.

But the wonderful staff at the Hooved Animal Rescue & Protection Society in Illinois have decided to take all these horses in and provide them with the medical care and attention that they need before they were found permanent homes with loving individuals. Share away, people.
